Well, it is another beautiful Friday, the weather has been absolutely amazing! I'm looking forward to 19 degrees tomorrow too! I managed to get out for a walk at lunchtime today, and I wandered over to the Denbies vineyard to see how their vines are getting along. I was quite smug to find that our grape vines at home are doing much better than theirs, our two both have leaves on now, while the ones in Denbies don't even have buds on yet! It seems we have the superior terroir!
By the way, happy St George's Day! We are celebrating our patron saint's day with some lovely Swedish pear cider, and Chinese food! Well, he wasn't English anyway, was he? I found out today on Pause for Thought, that he was actually a Roman soldier and priest, who refused to offer up a sacrifice to Pagan gods, and ended up being put to death by Emperor Diocletian. It turns out he's also the patron saint of 10 different countries! He must be a good one then, even if he didn't actually slay any dragons.
The photo is of a mysterious walled garden in the grounds at work, I'd like to see what's inside..
